| 37 | The renal injury induced by the chemotherapeutic agent methotrexate (MTX) is a serious adverse effect that limited its use in the treatment of various clinical conditions. The antioxidant activity of Ginko biloba extract (GB) was reported to mitigate the renal injury induced by MTX. Our study will be conducted to examine the renoprotective role of GB against MTX-induced nephrotoxicity for the first time through its impact on the regulation of the PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling as well as the level of long non-coding RNA-Metastasis-associated lung adenocarcinoma transcript-1 (MALAT1) expression. Adult rats will be ip injected by a single dose of 20 mg/kg MTX on the fifth day of the experiment to induce kidney injury and this group will be assigned as MTX group while the treated group will be assigned as GB+ MTX and will be administered 60 mg/kg/day GB by oral gavage for 10 days. Serum creatinine and urea levels, renal TGF-? mRNA and MALAT1 expression, in addition to the PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling will be assessed.
